Nyeri Tycoon accused of murdering his son dies

Stephen Wang’ondu, the tycoon from Nyeri who was accused of murdering his son on January 1, 2021 has died in hospital

Wang’ondu died at the Outspan Hospital in Nyeri, where he had been admitted to a day after securing release from custody on Sh1 million bond, a member of his family has confirmed.


It is alleged that the 74 year old business man died from Covid-19 complications though THE NEWS BRIEF could not ascertain that.

The tycoon has been in custody since February 24 when he was arrested for allegedly killing his son Daniel Mwangi Wang’ondu.

DCI were investigating claims that Stephen killed his son Daniel so that he could receive insurance compensation. The detectives were also investigation stephen’s decision to move in with his son’s estranged wife.

The investigations were still on going prior to his demise.Th family announced his death without giving much details.
