It was a huge boost for Thomas Tuchel as his side, Chelsea played there third match under his new management and are unbeaten in the three games.
It was a tight fought match between two London rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs and the Blues who won their away match after Jorginho netted a penalty in the 23rd minute of the match after Eric Dier fouled Chelsea forward Timo Werner inside the box.
Speaking after the match, Chelsea’s newly appointed manager said he was pleased with the win which he thought his side deserved.
“In general I am very pleased with the result, it’s a deserved win. We were very good in the first half, very dominant and strong with the ball, good counter-pressing and we did not allow counter-attacks against one of the most dangerous sides.” He said.
Chelsea have continued with their impressive run, drawing one match and winning two of their three played matches since the arrival of the German coach who was fired by PSG in December 2020.
The win meant that Chelsea climbs to position six with 36 points, just four points away from top four and 11 points away from the league leaders, Manchester city.
Mourinho’s lose to Chelsea means he doesn’t remain hopeful of winning the EPL trophy but battling for Top four as he is now eightth placed with 33 points against league leaders Manchester City who have 47 points but with a game in hand.
