Why Chap Chap Candidate Is Likely To Be Disqualified For Machakos Senatorial race

Police officers attached to the Government vehicle check unit have impounded three County Government vehicles with fake number plates in campaign trail for Maendeleo chap chap​ party candidate Mutua Katuku.

The Sound Cars usually used by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua are now at the Machakos Police station

Motor vehicle check unit through​ tip off from concerned members of public trailed the vehicles on their campaign routine and impounded them.

The vehicle which were detained had posters of the Chapchap party candidate whose party leader is Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua

Tension gripped the police station as aggrieved members of the public and candidates of other different parties clashed with police demanding to know why the officers allowed the removal of the candidate’s posters from the vehicles while at the Police station

Among those present was the GDDP candidate Simon Kitheka , his supporters and those of Wiper party candidate.

Appealing to the IEBC to disqualify the Chapchap candidate for flouting election laws by using public resources, Mr Kitheka and those present urged the police not to hesitate prosecuting those behind the unlawful act.

According to NTSA search The fake number plates were identified as follows

KBL650E belongs to a Toyota saloon owned by Ana’s Motos Limited while KBE712L is a Faw tipper/Lorry owned by Ndove builders and general contractors​ Lmited
KCA958F is a Roller/Grader/Crane Combine harvester owned by Machakos County Government

Other Senatorial candidates in the March 18 By-elections have been raising concerns on​ lack of level grounds urging IEBC to disqualify Maendeleo chap Chap candidate who has been using Government resources in his daily campaigns

CCU candidate lilly Nduku who expressed his disatisfaction wrote a letter to Party officials withdrawing from the Race

Chama Cha Uzalendo Candidate for Machakos senatorial by-election Lilly Nduku waiting to be cleared by IEBC.

“Goodmorning my strong supporters. I would like to let you know that I do appreciate 100% the support that you have accorded me. I also want to let you know that the best person does not always win. My opponents have been hand picked and brought about by governments and are fully sponsored and honestly speaking it would be a tall order to continue competing with Aspirants who are using our own resources to campaign I am therefore forced to withdraw my candidature for 2021 and focus on 2022.”it read in part.

UDA candidate urbanus Muthama Ngengele in his campaign tours pointed out that the Maendeleo chap Chap party had been using Village,Ward,county and sub county administrators to campaign for their candidate

Apart from the vehicles,​ the candidate has been using Governor press to provide coverage.
