The Body of a 23 year old man was today discovered dead in a ditch next to Maasai Mara University, in Narok North Sub County. The incidence attracted a huge crowd who were suspicious that the man could have been murdered.
However, according to police officers in Narok the man had been epileptic and had been on a drinking spree before he fell into a ditch next to the university.
Narok County commander Kizito Mutoro confirmed that the deceased was alone at the time of the incident and heavy rains could have propelled his falling into the ditch.
He said members of the public reported the incidence to the police at around 10:30 am this morning when the police moved in to retrieve the body.
The commander gave assurance to members of the public that their security is guaranteed, pointing out that the mother to the deceased had reported that her son was epileptic.
Kizito urged members of the public who consume alcohol to exercise caution while returning to their homes as the rainy season could cost them their lives especially while crossing rivers.
Harun Maina who is a boda bda operator in Narok narrated that the 23 year old used to be a hardworking man who had no problem with no one.
The body has been taken to the Narok county referral hospital mortuary.
