Police Lobby Teargas To Disgruntled Supporters Of Huruma Ward Candidate

Police in Eldoret were today forced to use teargas canisters to disperse disgruntled supporters of three key candidates in the jubilee party primaries for the Huruma ward position in Uasin Gishu County.

Supporters of Francis Maina Njoroge and those of Lucy Wangari Njamba were pushing for the exercise to be halted claiming that names of a lot of their supporters were on the voters list and that the whole exercise was not free and fair.

However supporters of Lucy Ng’endo Chomba said the exercise was fair and their opponents had sensed defeat that’s why they were trying to cause violence.

Finally the jubilee officials in Uasin Gishu made a decision to allow members with identification cards whose names were missing on the jubilee list to vote.
