More than 50 vehicles using Narok Mai mahiu highway we’re nabbed during a major crack that was conducted by NTSA and Narok East sub county Police commander Pius mbithi.
Most of the PSV vehicles which were nabbed are those that have interfered with Speed Governors and failure to observe covid 19 measures such as having sanitizers and maintaining required matatu carrying capacity.
According to Narok East sub county Police Commander Pius Mbithi they have started this operation due to high number of accidents that have been continuously recorded in the highway claiming lives,
He says the operation will continue especially this festive season so as to make sure Kenyans who are going home for Christmas are protected from over speeding driver’s.
He said those nabbed will be taken to court and they will not been given their number plates which were removed until they fulfill what is required.
He called on narok residents to report any mischievous behaviour from the drivers to the authorities so as to prevent accidents on the highway.
