West Brom Bounce Back to The Premier League

West Brom has been promoted to the Premier League after a 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers( QPR) in their final Championship game of the season at The Hawthorns Stadium on Wednesday night, 22nd July.

The Baggies’ draw with QPR was enough to secure a return to the English top flight after Brentford were beaten 2-1 by Barnsley and Fulham drew 1-1 with Wigan Athletic.

Slaven Bilic’s side will join Championship title winners Leeds United in the top-flight next season.

“What a season, what a league. I was very vocal when I said I would always like to manage in the Championship because its especially difficult. I never imagined it would be this difficult, this demanding. It’s exhausting,” Bilic was quoted as saying by Sports Pundit.

“I didn’t enjoy every minute of it, of course, but with a finish like this, the results at the bottom, the Forest situation, its unbelievable. I’m proud of the whole club.”

West Brom spent eight seasons in the Premier League from 2010 until their relegation in 2018.

Brentford will go into the playoffs along with Fulham, Cardiff City and Swansea City in the fight for the last promotion spot. The Championship play-off’s begin on Sunday, 26th July.

At the bottom, Wigan finally got relegated after getting 12 points deducted from their accrued points. Hull City and Charlton were the other sides to relegate into League one.
